Easter Sunday is the perfect day to have a roast dinner with all the trimmings. Lamb is often the meat of choice but not everyone is a fan of lamb, or perhaps you just fancy something a little different this year. Either way we have some delicious Easter roast dinners that will help you enjoy Easter together with your family.
Homemade Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puddings
Nothing beats homemade, especially for special occasions like this. Don’t be tempted to save time by buying readymade, a little time in the kitchen perfecting your Yorkshire Puddings and making a rich red wine gravy will certainly be worth the effort. Find all the ingredients you need for your Hereford Roast beef dinner here.
There are lots of delicious seasonal side dishes that will delight your palette too. Why not replace the roast potatoes with crispy new potatoes in butter, or serve both if you have a lot of hungry mouths to feed. Simply preheat the oven to gas mark 6, bring the new potatoes to the boil in salted water and simmer for ten minutes before draining. The next step is to gently crush them and tossing them in oil before roasting for 25 minutes, then cover in melted butter and serving with sea salt.
Don’t Forget the Horseradish Sauce
Make your own horseradish sauce by grating some fresh horseradish and mixing it with some crème fraiche and double cream. Add some English mustard, a pinch of sugar and season with salt. You’ll need two tablespoons of crème fraiche, 2 tablespoons of double cream and quarter of a tea spoon of the English mustard.
